General
GoGood is a free, ad-free sustainable travel guide app that helps thoughtful travelers discover authentic destinations and experiences curated for local impact. We feature businesses and destinations that have been assessed for sustainability, local ownership, and community benefit.
Unlike conventional travel platforms, every business on GoGood has been evaluated through our Stewardship Scan — a rigorous assessment based on the Green Destinations Good Travel Scan and extended with GoGood Bonus questions on ownership and certification. We prioritize quality over quantity, authenticity over advertising, and long-term community well-being over short-term volume.
Yes. GoGood is free for travelers and free for businesses to complete the Stewardship Scan. We're a program of the GoGood Community Foundation, a US-based nonprofit (pending), funded by partnerships, grants, and community support.
Reach us through the Contact page in the menu, or email us directly. We respond to every message and love hearing from travelers, businesses, and destination stewards.
For Travelers
Every listed business is evaluated across 10 dimensions of the Stewardship Scan: Management & Information, Caring for People, Good Employment, Energy & Climate, Reducing Waste, Caring for Water, Reducing Pollution, Food & Products, Caring for Nature, and Caring for Culture. The base rubric (Green Destinations' Good Travel Scan) totals 104 points. On top of that, GoGood adds Bonus points: up to +9 for local ownership and up to +4 for third-party certification — no penalty for businesses that don't qualify. Final scores are shown on a 0–100 scale.
Yes. Businesses complete a detailed self-assessment that our team reviews and verifies with supporting documentation where needed. We update scores as businesses improve, and listed businesses commit to ongoing improvement plans.
Browse by destination on the map, or filter by category (food, outdoors, arts, lodging, and more). Each listing shows its Stewardship Score, top sustainability highlights, and curator notes.

For Businesses
Listings are curated — our researchers and local experts invite businesses that demonstrate local ownership, authenticity, and community impact. If you'd like to be considered, contact our team with details about your business.
About 20–30 minutes for most businesses. You can save progress and return to finish later. Having recent utility bills, sourcing information, and staff data on hand will speed things up.
You'll receive your Stewardship Score and a detailed improvement plan with prioritized, achievable actions. Listed businesses work with the GoGood team to track progress over time.
A low score isn't a rejection — it's a starting point. We work with businesses at every stage. The scan identifies concrete improvements, and businesses that demonstrate committed action can be listed with a "Developing" badge while working toward higher scores.
For Destinations
We partner with DMOs, tourism nonprofits, and community organizations to build custom destination guides, assess sustainability across local businesses, and attract conscious travelers. Contact us to start a conversation about your destination.
Partnership structures vary based on scope and goals. We offer flexible arrangements including grant-funded programs, co-marketing partnerships, and fee-based services. Reach out to discuss what works for your organization.
Yes. Partner destinations receive dashboards with aggregate Stewardship Scores, category breakdowns, and trends across their listed businesses — useful for reporting, planning, and regenerative tourism strategy.
